Principal's Message
Greetings Wagon Wheel Community,
Welcome to our 2023-2024 school year! At Wagon Wheel Elementary, we believe in the three R's: Rigor, Relevance & Relationships. We believe it is essential to plan rigorous first instruction lessons, design projects that are relevant, and promote a safe environment where students, staff, and parents build positive relationships in order to increase student achievement.
As a team, we act on these beliefs by engaging in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) using data to make informed decisions about student learning and by providing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). This signature practice was recently recognized by the California Department of Education; and Wagon Wheel was extraordinarily proud to be honored as a 2018 California Distinguished School. Wagon Wheel also has been recognized by the California PBIS Coalition for our leading role in providing school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention Supports and leading CUSD schools with the distinguished Platinum PBIS Implementation Award for multiple years including 2022.
Our mission: Transforming the next generation of empowered students by fostering innovation and creating a culture of learning shapes our continued collaboration with all stakeholders - students, staff, and parents. We encourage all parents to volunteer, join PTA, or join one of the many committies who . As a community, I am confident that we will partner together to support the academic, personal, and social growth of all our students.
I look forward to meeting all of our students and parents on the first day of school as we kick-off the 2023-2024 school year.
