Principal's Message
Dear Wagon Wheel Families:
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new principal of Wagon Wheel Elementary School. I feel truly privileged and honored to continue serving our exceptional school and community. Wagon Wheel is a place where students are inspired to learn, grow, and thrive—and I look forward to furthering the traditions, relationships, and successes that make this school such a special place.
I am deeply committed to our school’s vision of fostering a nurturing environment where every child can excel. Our collective goal is to provide an inclusive and supportive atmosphere that promotes academic excellence, social development, and emotional well-being. Together, we will ensure that Wagon Wheel Elementary remains a place where students feel seen, heard, and valued every day.
I bring with me thirty-one years of experience in education, beginning my career as a fifth-grade teacher and working across both primary and intermediate grade levels. My administrative journey began as an Assistant Principal at Hastings Middle School in Fairhaven, MA, and Santan K-8 in Chandler, AZ. I had the honor of opening Copper Basin K-8 School in Florence, AZ, and Creekside Elementary School in Danville, CA. I also served as Director of Curriculum and Instructional Technology in the San Ramon Unified School District.
For the past twelve years, I have proudly served in the Capistrano Unified School District, most recently as Principal at Vista del Mar TK-8 School and before that, at Wood Canyon School and Concordia Elementary School. I am thrilled to now bring my experience and enthusiasm to Wagon Wheel Elementary.
I was born and raised in Massachusetts and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Broadcast Journalism from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I later completed a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) from Bridgewater State University. Yet, my greatest pride is my family. I have been married to my wonderful wife, Luana, for twenty-two years. We have two amazing children—our son, Kaeden, is currently a student at the University of North Dakota, and our daughter, Maile, is a freshman attending Northwood High School.
As an experienced educator and leader, I know that a strong school culture is built on relationships. I look forward to partnering with our dedicated staff, supportive families, and outstanding students to ensure that all children at Wagon Wheel continue to flourish socially, emotionally, and academically.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at pbfoucart@capousd.org. I look forward to meeting you, working alongside you, and celebrating another successful year together.
Here’s to a fantastic school year ahead—Go Mustangs!
Warmly,
Paul Foucart
